Felicia Day, star of web videos The Guild and Joss Whedon’s Dr. Horrible’s Sing-a-long Blog, who also played “Vi” in the final season of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, will portray a werewolf-hunting descendant of Little Red Riding Hood in the new Syfy Saturday Original Movie, Red.

I've been really looking forward to SyFy's Red Riding Hood, but I don't know what to think of the casting choice. I really like Felicia Day, but I'd rather see someone new/unknown/suprising to portray werewolf-hunting Red Riding Hood. It's just... I've seen Felicia Day in so many monster slaying badass girl roles (BTVS, Dollhouse, etc.) it's kind of getting boring. We'll see, I'm still excited for the scenario though...

It totally wasn't what I was expecting (though who was I, really, with EXPECTATIONS when I knew full well it was TIM BURTON at the helm) but I am so in love with it right now. It's all sorts of wonderful.
