Doctor & Howl's Moving Castle
Dec. 28th, 2010 09:17 amHello everyone! Hope you had awesome Christmases. I hear people got all sorts of lovely gifts, JEALOUS! Still waiting for the New Year's eve for my gifts. HOPEFULLY I'LL GET SOME. (Even though I bought absolutely nothing for anyone. I know, I suck. I'll make it up during the year... Hopefully)
Watched Doctor Who Christmas Special and Howl's Moving Castle last night. Yeah, I'm watching DW now :)) I only watched the first and last episode of last season, but I'm gonna start watching regularly next season. Matt Smith is just too good to miss.
I'm quite late (like 6 years) to the buzz about Howl's Moving Castle, but guys, it was A-MA-ZING. I laughed, cried, sighed, jumped on bed even! Apparently I have a thing for young, beautiful (and a tad bit feminine) wizard guys AND 90 YEAR OLD WOMEN. My god... =)) If you haven't seen it until now (aka made of fail like I am) watch it! If I know my f-list, you'll all love it.
AND THE SOUNDTRACK! Oh the soundtrack... ~~ Downloaded it last night, but didn't have a chance to listen to it, will do tonight and tomorrow and the rest of my life probably.
Planning to watch Spirited Away tonight. Hayao Miyazaki is da man and Joe Hisaishi is his OTP.
Someone on Amazon.co.uk said; "Joe Hisaishi has worked with Hayao Miyazaki for most of this cult director's award winning animations. It's almost like a John Williams-Steven Spielberg or Danny Elfman-Tim Burton partnership." 100% accurate.
That's all folks. Going back to my tedious work of software development. Good luck to me and all of you as well.

Black Swan
Dec. 20th, 2010 10:33 pmThis entry will be completely spoiler-free, but full of fangirl squee, so beware.
Black Swan was spectacular. It was visually stunning, acting was A++++, script was crazy, unbelivable and smart. There were some scary moments, I admit, but this is not a scary movie.
I've always liked Natalie Portman. Not necessarily because of her acting, but this time she blew my mind. I love her. She should be nominated for all kinds of awards, I'm telling you. AND SHE SHOULD WIN THEM! ♥
There were so many moments, SO SO SO MANY AWESOME moments, but the last 30 mins or so was just a complete mindfuck. I actually yelled at my screen "WHAT IS GOING ON HERE!?" but I wasn't frustrated or anything, I just... It's all Natalie Portman. Honestly. She acted so well. It's not a brand new, extremely original scenario or anything, but the way she makes you feel the character she's playing is just phenominal. You don't know what will come next. You guess, you hope but even though you guess right, it still hits you in the face with a baseball bat.
It's an extremely uncomfortable movie to be honest, but you can't just look away or dare to get bored. You want to know more, you want to solve the puzzle. You want to see the end, breathe, relax...
PLUS, SHE CAN DANCE. NATALIE FUCKING PORTMAN DANCED SWAN LAKE. Wow, people. Just wow.
Also also also KSENIA SOLO! KENZI! I knew she was in this, but I didn't think I could see her in more than one scene. She was pretty awesome, too :D Nothing major, but still, Kenzi! A ballerina! Whee! ♥
Vincent Cassell... HNNNNGGGGG.... This movie would have been the best thing I've ever seen if only Monica Bellucci jumped out from somewhere. Randomly. Without any rhyme or reason.
Also, one last thing: Winona Ryder and Natalie Portman are sisters. More like, long lost twins or something. I've always known it.
So yeah,
WATCH IT AND STAY AWAY FROM SPOILERS.

Harry Potter and The Deathly Hollows
Nov. 27th, 2010 11:44 amSaw the movie last night at a very nice theatre with my two bffs
awakencordy and
glenien. Our seats were amazing, people were fun to watch with and the movie was 100% awesome.
I loved everything about it. Not a single moment I don't like. Maybe it's mostly because this was the first grown up Trio movie I've seen, but generally the movie had the correct tone I expected. Hopeless, lonely, but still young and pretty.
( Some other details that may sound spoilery for people )
I think this is pretty much it. Can't wait for the DVD to come out. Such epic awesomeness, guys. Can't believe there's only one movie left, and then it's over. *weeps*
ETA: THE SOUNDTRACK IS EPIC.

Hunger Games
Nov. 19th, 2010 10:07 amThis is a fanmade short movie for the Katniss/Rue scene in Hunger Games. Absolutely amazing, high quality and full of love. If you're fan of the books and can't wait for the movie like me, watch watch watch.

Sundays suck.
Oct. 24th, 2010 05:06 pmI hate Sundays.
Everything feels so temporary. And you know, the next day is Monday.
Sucks.
Only thing that makes me remotely happy about Sundays is the promise of having Lost Girl to watch on Mondays. Especially this guy:

Watched Zombieland. It was fun. Now I can't decide if I should continue watching stuff or lay back and read something.
Sundays are boring.

August Rush
Oct. 16th, 2010 11:09 pmI've just finished watching August Rush and I can't believe I didn't watch it earlier! 3 years earlier to be exact. It was so my kind of movie. Music, New York, Keri Russell, JRM, Freddie Highmore (I adore that kid!) Even Robin Williams who was pretty evil and weird, it was unexpected.
But the music... Oh the music ♥ I was feeling really dizzy so I lay down and started watching it just to pass the time, but I'm so glad I did. It was magical and extremely beautiful. If you haven't seen it before, do so.

94 minutes of my life is wasted.
Aug. 1st, 2010 02:47 pmDO.NOT.WATCH.SHYAMALAN'S.LAST.AIR.BENDER.EVER. Don't do it. Never. Ever. Don't even think about paying for it! Watch the animated series instead.
Wow, man. It's like Shyamalan sat down and specifically dumbed it down and made it impossible to understand/watch/like. I don't know if that was an actual line or somebody's reaction (i watched the cam version), but one person said: "Oh my god, he's making fire out of nothing!" while Iroh started firebending.
SERIOUSLY!? OH MY GOD. THAT IS WHAT FIREBENDING IS ALL ABOUT! OH MY GOD! DIE IN A FIRE, SERIOUSLY!
And the way they pronounce Aang and Iroh literally hurt my brain.
I'm not even going to talk about the most stupid casting in the whole wide world.
This movie is complete bullshit, I feel betrayed and violated. I hope they stop the whole trilogy thing at this second. I can't stand it.
ETA: By the way, I watched it, because I honestly thought no one can turn Avatar into something THAT bad, but I was wrong D:

Umm, I really don't want to be the party pooper, but Inception wasn't as mind blowing as people said. I'm sorry.
I came home and read some reviews and theories, but I really didn't see anything I haven't seen in the movie. If you know something I don't please point me to the right direction, because from what I got... ( Spoilers )
ETA: I have a theory! I think the main reason why people were so into this movie is that all they have seen this past year was TWILIGHT MOVIES. Therefore they hugged and cherished this nice (but not ground-breaking) movie. Figures.
2nd and last ETA: Theory #2 is what I thought right after the movie ended and I think I'll stick with it. It gives the whole thing a little more depth.
