Felicia Day, star of web videos The Guild and Joss Whedon’s Dr. Horrible’s Sing-a-long Blog, who also played “Vi” in the final season of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, will portray a werewolf-hunting descendant of Little Red Riding Hood in the new Syfy Saturday Original Movie, Red.

I've been really looking forward to SyFy's Red Riding Hood, but I don't know what to think of the casting choice. I really like Felicia Day, but I'd rather see someone new/unknown/suprising to portray werewolf-hunting Red Riding Hood. It's just... I've seen Felicia Day in so many monster slaying badass girl roles (BTVS, Dollhouse, etc.) it's kind of getting boring. We'll see, I'm still excited for the scenario though...

You know, maybe that's what vaguely bugged me about the casting. I do like Felicia Day, but it's just so . . . obvious.

Yes! It totally took away the wow factor for me, I already know how Felicia slays vampires/werewolves/actives/etc.

SyFy's concepts are so ... out of this world. But yeah, I get what you mean. Not what I pictured for Red. (Have you seen Alice? I'm so intrigued by it)

I've seen Alice yes, it was really pretty! Especially Hatter. But I'm not so sure about the lady who portrayed Alice, I thought she looked a bit too old, but overall the universe was pretty awesome!

Gah. From the pictures I've seen, no one really looks the way I imagined them to. Though. It does make my (secret?!) Hatter/Alice shipping heart happy.
