Thank you, universe, for this amazing day. I haven't had one like this for a very long time.
Nothing major happened, but it was without fail that's for sure!
- The project I was assigned to is successfully finished and handed for testing. I'm pretty sure I'll do some more stuff on it, but still, only 2 days for something I've never seen in my entire life? Yeah, pretty awesome. And this was supposed to be handed on Friday. Go me!
- Plus I've been working non-stop for 2 days! I really don't know how those days went by! It was amazing to be USEFUL again. Today there was this tiny (but annoying nonetheless) problem and my whole team tried to solve it with me. We were brainstorming, fuming, but it was SOMETHING! After days and days of ONTD, Stumbleupon, Tumblr and LJ, this was such a pleasant change. I fucking love working.
- Then there was this cocktail in Çırağan Palace which I had promised my mom that I'd go with her. Not gonna lie, I was pretty hesitant and stressed about it, because whenever we make plans with mom, one of us goes obnoxiously bitchy and ruin the night. But for the sake of the Palace, we were both enthralled! (All those years I lived in Istanbul, this was my first time being there.)
We were there an hour early and I would normally be uncomfortable about it (hello, bitchy?), but this time I enjoyed it so much. We walked around, go up and down the palace, planned my future (and very improbable) wedding reception. (It's totally going to be Ottoman themed. I'm obsessed.) Then went into the ballroom and got a small table to which was right next to the windows. Oh Bosphorus, how awesome you are... ♥
We ate (mom mostly did the eating part, I was surprisingly full) and talked and met people. There was this guy, whose name escapes me now, he was a lord. Extremely British and awesome. Then there was another lawyer guy (cocktail was for an international law firm. DLA Piper. I'm using their cardboard invitation as a coaster. Seriously. It's made of hard cardboard.) who was also British. I played the translator between mom and him. I'm so surprised how much law stuff I know in English! Great times, guys, I truly missed speaking in English.
The weird thing is, if I'm speaking to a British person, my mind goes haywire and I suddenly have a British accent! Wtf! (and it sucks.) My accent is pretty NY-ish (I don't know. Lots of people told me that, I have no idea which accent is which.), but when I was talking with that guy I was all British and I couldn't stop even if I wanted to. It's the strangest reflex! (I wish my British accent was better. I'm pretty good on certain words, but overall, oh please, stop me.)
- Then there was awesome TV! Gossip Girl season finale!
Too much awesome. I'm literally in love with every single storyline they threw up on the screen. Chuck being shot? Priceless. I couldn't ask for more after he slept with Jenny.
How heartbreaking it was that she took the sheets with her? I pity her. I made an icon in my mind while she was crying to Eric. The icon consists the shiny happy clean!hair Jenny from S1 (which I love the most) and Jenny with her panda eye make up, greasy hair and lots of snot & tears. Pitiful indeed.
Dan and Serena belong together. No arguments there, but DUDE, THE BABY =)))) I LOLed IRL when I saw Georgina's belly =)) Priceless!
Blair's hair was lookin' delicious. Thank you, Herbal Essences.
- But above it all, God created Gregory House. House season 6 finale aka the best show's awesome fanservice
HUDDY! IT HAPPENED! FOR REAL THIS TIME!
Awww maaaan, I was in tears throughout the episode. Hugh Laurie is such an amazing actor, really.
I've always been on and off with House for 6 years, but even after all those long breaks, I never regretted going back and watching all the episodes I missed. The show is extremely consistent (sometimes boring, I have to admit) and it's that way thanks to Hugh Laurie. He portrays House so freaking well, it's insane.
I knew the girl was going to die, yet, I cried my fucking eyes out. I jumped in my seat when House yelled "THAT IS THE POINT!" to Foreman. I shaked my head violently from side to side when he sat down with those vicodin boxes. I knew Cuddy was going to come, I knew she'd save him (and I was extremely pissed at her for yelling at House earlier), but I was still relieved and felt the love. They're just so right. AND THE PURE SURPRISE IN HOUSE'S EYES!! He was really, really NOT expecting that. I know. Cuddy is always there, but the way she said she loved him ~~ So natural, yet so monumental! It's freaking chemistry for you, people. Learn from the best.
Well, I'm 99.999999% sure that they'll fuck it up next season, but don't get me wrong, THEY'RE SUPPOSED TO FUCK IT UP! It's Huddy for God's sake, they just can't function without breaking down completely.
- Yup! That's my day for you. I'm going to bed now. A little hungry, but it's okay. I ate way too many green plums. Delishhhhhhhhhhhh!
- And now I randomly remembered Dean & Deluca and their delicious cinnamon apple muffin. What the hell?
- OH LOOKIE, MY NEW MOODTHEME! RICHARD & KAHLAN! I completely forgot about it! Such a nice reminder! ♥ Watch Legend of the Seeker, it's awesome.

Date: 2010-05-21 01:38 am (UTC)And, yes, Gossip Girl finale was WONDERFUL. All kinds of scandal and plot twists, which is about all I ask from the show these days!
As for House, I might need to finally catch up for real to see how they handle House/Cuddy next season!
