Umm, I really don't want to be the party pooper, but Inception wasn't as mind blowing as people said. I'm sorry.

I came home and read some reviews and theories, but I really didn't see anything I haven't seen in the movie. If you know something I don't please point me to the right direction, because from what I got... Cobb was either still dreaming, or not.

Really, internet? Really?

I have to admit, those "who's dreaming what" graphs helped a little, but didn't change the end result. I believe Cobb is dreaming and somebody else believes he doesn't. Nobody really explains anything EXTREMELY different.

And "questioning the reality" thing? Matrix had done it long before, people. Please.

It really had some very nice ideas about dreaming and how people's subconscious work, but other than that, I can even say that the second half of the movie was rather boring :(

Sorry. I might change my idea in the future if I see a ground breaking theory about the ending (or any part of the movie for that matter), but for now, I'm mourning over the amount of money I spent on this.

ETA: I have a theory! I think the main reason why people were so into this movie is that all they have seen this past year was TWILIGHT MOVIES. Therefore they hugged and cherished this nice (but not ground-breaking) movie. Figures.

2nd and last ETA: Theory #2 is what I thought right after the movie ended and I think I'll stick with it. It gives the whole thing a little more depth.

LOOLLL AWW ♥

I was expecting something like this. Everyone is so cheery and I really am wondering what's so good about this movie.. But apparently, nothing.

But the amount of money.... well.... you spent the night with pembe? didn't worth it? :D

Meeeh, para harcamaya değmez.

It was worth it, definitely. We had a very good time even though we were both dead tired. You should have seen our faces when we left the theatre. Our eyes were droopy and we were like "well, was it good? idk. we should read reviews"

I haven't seen the last two Twilight movies, and I am still head over heels for Inception. :p

Movies like this confuse me. After watching the trailers/previews I feel like I have no idea what's going on.

I would love to see Charlie St. Cloud tho.

I know, right? My problem was more like, "Okay, I get it, so what?" I felt exactly like I felt at the end of LOST and that is not a good feeling.

I hope Charlie St. Cloud is better than this, I remember it being lovely from the trailer I saw.

THANK YOU. I've been feeling so alone in my reaction! And even saw it super-early, like, before most of my flist, so it didn't have THAT much to live up to for me.

I think it might be that this is the kind of stuff I think about anyway? So, sorry, didn't really give me anything new to think about!

(I like to believe it was real, though! Otherwise, there's no real emotional payoff and it makes me too sad!)

YOU'RE WELCOME.

YES! I kept waiting for the good parts of the movie to start, but it never happenned so I was a little disappointed. I'm glad people started questioning *their* realities, but I was already in doubt about mine anyway. LOL.

Haha, I'm actually really glad you think so. I basically agree-- it was a nice movie, very compled (though perhaps a little too much-- I feel like there were a lot of ideas that were packed so tightly within the movie that a lot of them weren't actually developed very deeply) and startlingly I didn't feel there was a whole lot of imagination in it. There were some cool things like JGL walking on the ceiling and shit, but most of the time I just kept thinking about how the dreams should be much weirder. My own dreams are bizarre as fuck, and if anyone was poking around in my dreams they'd be met with some really bizarre, nonsensical, and probably disturbing shit. The dreams of these people didn't really have anything that was totally nonsensical in the way that dreams usually are so it seemed incomplete to me. I think a good comparison point is Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, which also mostly takes place in a dream world and very well captures the kind of chaotic and bizarre nature of dreams.

Anyway, yeah, I agree that it was a pretty good movie but I didn't find it mind-blowing either. Then again I didn't think Memento was that great and a lot of people of course think it's amazing. I think the problem is that I generally like movies that are emotional more than intellectual, and I think part of the reason I didn't connect with Inception that much is because I didn't really feel much for the characters. Cobb was pretty humdrum overall and Mal was characterized as very strange and almost inhuman, which made it difficult for me to empathize with their storyline. All the other characters were pretty sketchy too, I didn't even know most of their names by the end.

...and I ended up rambling. Sorry. XD

Oh my god, you read my mind. Really... This is 100% what I felt about the movie.

From what I've seen on the internet I was expecting more of a complex group where everyone had their own story, but it ended up being really flat for me. Yeah there was cute JGL with 3-piece suits, there was Juno who wasn't pregnant this time and there was Leo (who btw washed up to the shore just like I imagined Jack Dawson would) with his dead wife and strange dreams about her.

I'm not an Eternal Sunshine stan either, but comparing that movie to this one: ETERNAL >>>>> INCEPTION with the way it portrays the whole mind and memories and dream thing. Dreams should be strange, I agree.

It was really a good movie, but I would see this more as an action movie than a movie which makes you question your reality. There are better movies out there to do that. I'll take JGL on the ceiling and leave it that way. (And that walking on the ceiling thing wasn't THAT impressive either, I've seen people do better.)

Oh and the chemistry between Mal and Cobb was AWFUL. Marion and Leo just doesn't work.

I just watched it and I think I'm going to go see it again, just to see if I can pick up on more things, but I do agree that the second half was a bit boring. It was almost Transformers-esque, because it was mostly just guns shooting and bombs exploding. The premise is brilliant though, and the cast is just akgfkak PERFECT.

The premise is excellent! That's why I was expecting more from the movie and that is why I was so hyped up in the first half, but I ended up being underwhelmed. Have fun in your 2nd time around and let me know if you pick up anything new! I think I download a cam version and try again sometime.
