aww don't be, once this is done we'll be back to our old loving fandoms where everyone is a winner! But honestly, this year is pretty strange, I think new fandoms screwed everyting up for the oldies and goldies.
And I guess I'm realizing that I'm kinda turned off by the intense love for some of these characters? Which doesn't seem fair to me, but I have a bad reaction to the way some of these characters are just sooooo popular. Too often I end up feeling like, "But they aren't THAT awesome" because I get tired of hearing about it.
I get it really, I like Sue, but she's just... I don't know, too new to this whole thing! I won't be suprised if she wins this whole thing, but I'll be MAD!
See, I can understand Eric losing to Donna because come on, Donna was there first. I can even see how Sheldon is winning against Barney and Dean losing to Scully, they all make sense, but Sue is just doesn't deserve, not yet. I wish she was paired with a stronger character.
Sue's really hard for me because I don't like her and, even taking my feelings out of the equation, I'm, like, okay, is this REALLY the kind of character we want to support? Like, at least with Dean winning last year, he's a GOOD guy, you know? I mean, I don't know a ton about Supernatural, but I know that much! He's a heroic character. That kind of thing I can get behind. And Barney has his issues (especially this season), but we still know he's a good guy deep down and he really cares about his friends.
But SUE? What are we saying as a fandom? That we want to be like her? That we even want to know people like her? I just don't get it. And all the campaigning for her seems to based on threats (lol, that sounds bad, but you know what I mean! Sue-style threats) and that's not something I'm comfortable with.
And I know I'm taking it too seriously, but it really frustrates me!
And, honestly, it's making me not even want to watch Glee anymore--THAT'S how much it's bugging me.
I don't care much about characters being good or bad, but the general appreciation just seems so huge. I think it's not just because Sue is an "awesome" character, but Glee is way too popular.
Maybe I'm missing the point here, but I don't pay much attention to the campaigns in comments. This would have been a much fair fight if campaigning was forbidden once and for all, but then where would be the fun in that? :P
I think we should just forget about the whole thing and support random people on random brackets and have fun. Thinking about the ways of fandom is tiring.
I don't know. I just wish we could support the "good" characters, too. It feels like the bad guys are so often the most popular. (And I like some of them, too! I'm just saying let's love the Chandlers and the Paceys in addition to the Erics and Barneys.)
Yeah, I think maybe I need to just vote and not think about it as much for the rest of the week! It's obviously upsetting me and that's so silly when it's something like this!
