Also, I read the first book for The Mortal Instruments series. I thought it was decent. I flew through it quite quickly and I normally read pretty slowly.
Oh if you're looking for other young adult books to get into, my friend told me to read "The Blue Sword". She says the first few chapters are a little draggy, but it gets really good. :]
