Meme time!

Stolen from my wife,
awakencordy (After all I own 50% of what she owns.)
Do RL friends and family members know you have a journal on LJ?
My brother knows, I probably mentioned it to my mom and dad during our conversations but I am 100% sure that they don't remember.
Some of my RL friends know too and I used to have one of them on my flist to have private gossip sessions about other RL friends, but now she stopped updating woe. I find it interesting to share this LJ fact with less-internet-related people because they think having an online journal/blog is the most amazing thing a person can achieve. It's like you're a celebrity. But you're not. Well at least I don't feel like it :)
Do you also have Facebook and if so, what do you prefer – LJ or FB?
I do have a Facebook account and I hate it. Literally. I think it's because it reminds of the times when I was in college and people around me were totally not my kind of people, you know? So I hate checking my facebook page, but once in a while people I care about (like old high school friends) message me and it makes me happy! (and I immedieately take their phone numbers and email addresses so we don't have to use the pesky facebook anymore!)
I definitely prefer LJ. I'm myself here. You cannot see the same stuff on facebook. It's like a cold stone facade. Ugh.
What about Twitter?
Yes I do have one and I love it! I know I used to go around and tell everyone "what's the point!?" but now that I have one I'm loving it. It's mostly fandom talk and random updates on how weird my life is, but it's fun! http://twitter.com/blabucu
Do you blog on any other sites?
Nope. I used to have Word Press page but since the site is blocked here in Turkey (yeah I know, wtf right?) I stopped using it.
How often do you check in on LJ?
Too often. I refresh my filters in every 5 minutes or so. My online response ratio is incredible (and kind of freaky. I'm almost always online.) since I'm in front of my computer all day because of my job.
What do you rarely or never post about?
I think I post about everything except sports. I don't support a team (except when people ask me I support Fenerbahce and my Formula 1 team is Ferrari, but I have no idea about how and what they are doing.) and I'm not interested in any kind of activity. I enjoy watching tennis, but then again I only know names and faces, that's all.
Have you ever thought about deleting your journal?
I don't see the purpose of deleting my journal. It's online, it's there and it's always fun to go back read what I blurbed about even though I don't update anymore. And before this year I never updated for 2 years, I think...
Have you ever changed your username?
Yup. I changed it to delialona, but it didn't work out. thelake is such a personal and awesome nickname for me. I use it everywhere! thelake is my online personality.
Why did you choose your current username?
Because its pronounciation is very similiar to my actual name. Dilek - thelake. Try it, you'll see :)
And this nickname was given to me by a friend in my senior year in high school. He died in a car crash 2 years after that and it's also a memory from him that I keep with me ♥ (yeah I had a crush on him in high school, we were very good friends, but weirdly I wasn't devastated when I learned that he died, I didn't even go to his funeral. yeah, i don't know...)
If you're looking for new friends, how do you find them?
Friending memes works most of the time, but my favourite activity is lurking around in other friends' journals and stealing their friends! Ask
katayla! :))
Finally, tell us the reasons why you keep an online journal:
Because it's so great to write stuff even if it doesn't make any sense and have this amazing connection to all sorts of people around the world! It definitely broadens a person's horizon.
Also, here is the code if you want to do this yourself:
I think everyone should do this "blank meme code" thing because sometimes I just feel too lazy to copy and paste the questions and delete the answers on them.
