I haven't updated properly since last week...?

Well, I came to the office at 6 am today. To deploy the major project I've been working on since I started working here. I think it's finally done and it's 9 am already. I'm so sleepy I can just put my head down and drift to dreamland. I'm trying to listen to upbeat songs to keep myself awake, but it'll be useless after some time, I know it...

I went to bed at 9 pm last night, the sky wasn't even dark enough. I kept waking up every 2 hours until I gave up and get out of bed at 4:30 am. I just can't sleep properly if I have to wake up unusually early the next day.

I even had a dream where I was going to the office (which was a huge building like Empire States) and I saw picnic tables in the place of our desks. I kept asking everyone where my computer was because it was already too late to deploy stuff. It was 9 o'clock and Anna was nowhere to be found. I thought she would kill me beacuse I'm too late. I remember my mom and aunts waiting downstairs to celebrate my first biggest deployment (wtf!) and when I finally found my computer, I opened everything up and turned around to ask what we do next, that's when I saw everybody was dead and zombies were running towards me to kill me!

I'm weird like that. *yaaawwwnnn*

In other news; I am now able to write my novel in the office as well! I broke the curse, but now all I want to do is write instead of doing my actual work that I'm paid for.

I should take my vacation permission file thingy to my boss, so she can sign it and I can be free for the first week of August to go and have crazy fun with my two bffs in Bodrum! *crazy dance!*

I'm just too sleepy...

ETA: It's 1 pm now and deployment is still going on in the background. They literally come up with all sorts of problems by the minute. I have been working on this project for almost 8 months now, and I'm amazed at how can this little shit create so many problems! It was working fine in the test enviroment for god's sake!

My sleepless brain is having a hard time processing stuff, but I'm holding on. I think there will be another meeting for yet another project with some other people, but I'm not sure...

I was planning on leaving early today, but it surely doesn't seem possible at this time. I shall close my eyes and do ATM transactions in my head. *pays credit card bills or something...*

I've gone crazy, I know.

ETA 2: Have I mentioned that I have super powers now? B-)

I went to see my eye doctor on Monday, for the routine 3-months-after-lasik-surgery check and she told me I had 150% vision! I was able to read verryyyy tiny letters in the board and it was such a weird accomplishment for me, I kept telling everyone about that all day.

Now I told you guys!

I don't have to go see my doctor for another year and I'm pretty sure I won't be that kinda responsible person who remembers scheduling annual eye doctor appointments. It's just too much work...I have 150% vision now, so who cares! *reads the alphabet backwards!*

I didn't know you had laser eye surgery! Was it scary? did it hurt? how bad was your eyesight before? I have horrible vision and have been somewhat thinking about it for a while.

It was not scary at all!! It's a very very simple procedure! No cutting, no hurting whatsoever!

I couldn't function without my glasses before. Everything was an absolute blur so I have been using contact lenses, but my eyes decided to have allergic reaction to the lenses after all those years!

Seriously, you have absolutely nothing to be scared about! here is what happens before the surgery: http://thelake.livejournal.com/100960.html

and this is what happened after the surgery: http://thelake.livejournal.com/103143.html

I had to get a second surgery AND IT'S DEFINTELY NOT A REAL SURGERY SINCE IT ONLY TAKES LIKE 15 MINUTES OR SOMETHING, but I had to get a second one on my right eye because I managed to wrinkle my cornea when I shut my eye very suddenly and forcefully... it sounds so much more painful when you put it in words, but trust me, it's not. I had no idea my cornea was wrinkled until I went to the doctor's and told her that my right eyes is a little bit blurry... I felt absolutely nothing the next day.

I had the surgery on Friday and I was back at work on Monday. That's how easy it is. Read all about it, it's definitely amazing to wake up in the morning and be able to see everything crystal clear!

It's the small flap part that freaks me out! But yeah, I can't function at all without my glasses, so it's something I'm considering. When they're doing the surgery, can you see? I mean obviously you're away for it but what is it really like? (SORRY FOR BOMBARDING YOU WITH QUESTIONS. FEEL FREE TO IGNORE ME!)

questions are good!! I didn't have enough time to ask people and freak out LOL! you have your chance!

I was very nervous about the flap thing too! But they make you blind! haha! literally, they numb your eye, put a plastic on top to suck out a little bit (this part is slightly uncomfortable but it lasts only 3-4 seconds), then they drop a fluid in your eye and tadaaa you're blind! you don't see and feel anything. I remember the relief when they made me blind, because I really didn't want to see what was going on.

There are two seperate machines in the surgery. One is the flap thing and you go blind for the procedure. It takes at most 1 minute to make the flap, then they take you to another room -- at least it was like this in my hospital -- and the actual laser machine is in that room. If you enjoy your regular eye doctor visits this second machine is totally not different. The only difference is they put clasps and such around your eyes so it stays open. Then they instruct you to look at the lights and in less than 15 minutes red laser fixes them without any pain whatsoever!

I was also worried that my eyes will dry and burn during the operation but they keep it fresh and clean, you don't worry about anything. after the operation is done you start seeing stuff right away, but with extreme dryness that causes blurry vision. I was able to read stuff, but it was very uncomfortable to keep my eyes open since they poked and played with it quite a bit much!

They took me into a dark room and told me to close my eyes and rest for half an hour, they the doctor came in for the last check which is, believe me, more uncomfortable than the surgery itself LOL! She checked the depths of my eyes with the most freakishly bright light in the human history! I couldn't keep my eyes open so she hold my eyelids to check it properly =))

after I was sent home my eyes burned a little more than I expected. I was practically forbidden to open them so I just went straight to bed. It's a not a very good idea to go to bed that early because once you doze off you forget to protect the eyes and if you don't the flap on your cornea can be wrinkled. That's what happened to me. I was sleeping then suddenly my phone rang and when I opened my eyes to see who was calling the light of the phone was so bright that I shut my eyes too quick and forcefully and I had to take the second "flap flattening operation" . It was nothing, they just put me under the second machine, numbed my eye again and fixed the flap manually, then put a contact lens over it so I wouldn't wrinkle it again during the day. They took the lens out by the end of the day.

I had to visit the hospital several times so I suggest you pick a one that's close to your house. Then the routine checks started. I had the operation on Friday and went back to work on Monday without any problems. My eyes developed a mild allergy which was normal, I used a couple of eye drops and it was fine in a week!

You should definitely go for it! and now you know all about what's gonna happen in there!
