I was reading the reviews of the latest Dollhouse episode and somebody's comment on Firefly is this:
I think Joss Whedon's really good, a distinct voice in the contemporary television landscape ( I really enjoyed Buffy and most of Angel, though I thought Firefly was genuinely terrible - that's my Whedon position established)

Which is a big mistake to say if you're around Whedon fans, naturally somebody steps up and says this:

I hate to tell you this Captain but you are an active that has been imprinted with the idea of disliking Firefly. Thats the only way I can understand anyone not liking Firefly.

Couldn't agree more, LOL!

I really like this episode, but no matter how awesome it was, it was predictable and the twist was there all along, so no suprise. BUT it doesn't change the fact that Needs was generally an awesome part of this journey.

I have one fun fact to share: The guy who used to rape Sierra was Fun Bobby from friends =)) From the first moment he opened the door I yelled "Hi, Fun Bobby!" to my screen. Gosh, I'm lame.

I hear people complaining about how Joss cheats when he erases eveything at the end of every episode, and how this will never let any character develop in the long run.
I completely disagree. Even in this episode they were so sure that the dolls will have closure and the sedatives will work at the exact time, but I'm 100 % sure that it's not the case. After all, we're all humans and our needs and sense of closure changes all the time. This was not a solution for Dollhouse at all. But Dr. Saunders was amazing, that is a fact. Oh, how I love you Amy Acker...

It's getting better and better, but ratings still suck, woe. But I try not to worry because Eliza is handling this shit.

Come on, ratings! I don't want this show to die! :(

Yeah, I mean, with everything that happened, somehow I doubt the Dollhouse will run this scenario every time a doll develops a need.

I must say, I was never a Firefly fan, I know it's a very unpopular opinion, but I just never got into it/could get into it.
I disagree as well, I think the character development so far has been great, and I think it will continue to be great. It's a great way for him to slowly bring key parts of their lives to the surface, and I think he is doing a great job.
This episode was great, you are right a bit predictable, but I thought it was so beautifully shot (especially that scene of them leaving the Dollhouse - so beautiful)
I really hope this show doesn't get cancelled it has so much potential and just continues to get better and better.

Firefly is such a thin line in whedon-verse, so I can understand...

I whole heartedly agree with you on the "leaving the Dollhouse" scene.. Just for a second I thought "woah, wait a minute, it was predictable but, damn this is amazing.." and then boom, echo kisses the floor.

*crosses fingers*

Yeah, I am not much of a firefly fan either, I just could never really get into it (like I have probably see all the episodes & the movie at this point, but it is more because you know, its decent sci-fi and I try to watch/read as much decent sci-fi as I can). I think the opposite is happening with Dollhouse to Firefly, he's trying to get through as much material as possible, use the premise to explore as much as he can, and at this rate, it seems like plot-wise we're halfway through season 4!

I thought the exact opposite! I think he's dragging the plot way too much with crazy viruses and pointless missions and all..

Oh, THAT stuff is being dragged out and was so pointless, I nearly stopped watching, and one of my friends definitely did. But them messing around with the actives, where he overall started in the action of the storyline (and then already filled in some of the gaps), seems to be moving ahead quickly.

I don't think he cheats, because there at least 5 non-actives he can develop. that's more characters in the entire cast of a bunch of shows i watch.

not that i don't love supernatural - but there are two boys in that show and that's it - i don't hear anyone saying that the writers are lame there?

i am defensive....

but don't worry because it looks promising it might get renewed!!!!!-

haha Supernatural! =)) But you know what, sometimes it's really hard to just focus on 1 or 2 characters instead of dealing with 10! So ı guess everybody's doing a good job therefore we should just shut our mouths and wait for Dollhouse to be renewed!!!!

I just hope it stays on long enough for us to see different tricks from the Dollhouse!
it's really sad to wait for a show to be cancelled! we weren't like this a few years ago! what happenned?

writer's strike: I did.
